"Call for affliates for Bel Ami UK"

It will soon be that time again peeps!

As it looks like a good betting possibility that we are going to see more 2011 release dates popping up soon then I am seeking affliates for the Bel Ami UK blog which will be up and running very soon.

Remember Me Saturday UK was fully supported by a whole range of wonderful affliates who supported us all the way through to the bitter end and this had a direct impact on spreading the word against strong media pressure to abandon this movie. The fans of course pulled out all the stops to support this movie and have done so again through the purchasing of the dvd.

It is our plan to support Bel Ami in the same way, this is small art house film which will could also suffer from lack of attention at the box office. But we know its gonna be a ripper [well of bodices anyhow's] and we want to support this classic all the way. We can only do this if we can again enlist the help of the fans and the affliates to spread the word.

"Bel Ami Still Set to be Released 2011"

There has been increased speculation over the release dates for Bel Ami recently, so lets just take a few minutes to reflect on what we think we know.

We have old news touted as new news, no news touted as breaking news and really just a lot of speculation!

What we do know is this [thanks to our official sources]

Protagonist list the movie delivery date as Dec 2010, which means distributors can expect to receive the movie by this date;
Our official sources both confirm that no release date has yet been set for the UK

What is news is that we have a Dutch release date of Feb 17th 2011, considering we have been predicting a Winter release for this movie then it looks like we were not that far out and lays to rest the Dec 2011 release chestnut me thinks.

What is clear is that more release dates will follow shortly along with stills, promo, comps and prem planning if you want to be part of that then get yourself over to:

Remember Me (2010)

A beautifully structured, engaging masterpiece, 14 March 2010

This film, definitely Robert Pattinson's most profound, is not to be taken or experienced lightly. It is a heavy drama that is less about romance than it is about family loss amidst tragedy. It is also the first film to surprise me in a very long time. I had no idea how it would conclude until about three minutes from the ending, which absolutely blew me away.

I went to see it with my girlfriend, and we had been waiting for it for a long time. We both expected it to be good, but what we were really hoping for was a Pattinson performance that demonstrated something beyond the level of range exhibited in his interpretation of Stephanie Meyer's lackluster anti-hero Edward Cullen. Needless to say, we got a lot more than we bargained for. Shockingly, not only did Pattinson easily eclipse both Pierce Brosnan's and Chris Cooper's performances as the two "fathers" of the story, which were both excellent, but he gave us something we will remember for a very long time. This is definitely the most powerful film I have seen in theaters over the past year. It reaches far beyond the limited emotional scope of "bigger" releases such as 'Avatar' or 'Shutter Island', both of which are disastrously overrated. What 'Remember Me' accomplishes with its riveting, no-holds-barred storytelling and its brilliant final sequence is a feat rarely, if ever, attempted so tastefully. It connects us with so many aspects of our reality, our own world, and our own history, that many of us try not to face. It forces us to examine what certain significant events mean in the progression of our lives and the lives of our families and friends. It examines how we relate to one another in both the simplest and most complex of our relationships. It ties our daily lives together with the unexpected, which is something that is often unavoidable whether we are prepared for it or not. And it provides us with some insight as to how to deal with our hardships in life. It doesn't give us all the answers, as no film or book or story of any kind could ever do, but it certainly inspires us to ask the tough questions.

Momma Pattinson thought Rob actually tattooed Michael on his chest.. lol

Ruby's quiet thru the sex scene. I really hope she isnt in the room with them during this discussion

Rob wanted to be a cop after watching the scene with Chris Cooper and his partner at the precinct

Birthday scene had 5 PAs blowing out the candles at the same time

Ruby said she related to Caroline on a lot of aspects and truly enjoyed playing the role

Rob was taken back by the exhaustion that Chris Cooper exhibited in the last scene.

Rob gushes about how fantasic an actress Lena Olin is.

Emilie says the train scene isnt sad but that she's accepting what's happened in her life and that she's living for Tyler.

The credits are rolling and when Rob sees his name on the screen, he says "He did a great job." [sarcasm drippin here one would imagine]

The film was dedicated to the victims of 9/11

They're doing the sign off.. Rob thanks the audience for watching and hopes they enjoyed the movie

Note that I cannot find it anywhere else with this stated release date the other sites are still quoting the release date as July 26th.

We are of course excited, indeed very excited by the prospect of film commentary being provided in part by Rob as we are already anticipating his witty one liners to warm us up here a some gems we can expect to hear.

His sex scene was scary: Pattinson was “terrified” during his boom-boom moment with De Ravin. More so, he was sympathetic to the director of photography, “who had to look deep into my … crack for a long time.”

His mother was appalled at the thought of a tattoo: Pattinson’s character has his brother’s name inked on his left pec as a memorial. When his mom saw it in the “Remember Me” trailer, she called him immediately. “I was like, ‘Really, do you think I tattooed ‘Michael’ on my chest?”

Fans take note — when in Los Angeles, he reads scripts in a fast-food restaurant parking lot: “I was in an In ‘N Out burger car park where I used to always read scripts. … I realized I liked the character Tyler in the first four pages.” Perhaps he celebrated with a Double-Double.

Busy times ahead people with the opening of Eclipse not far away, well further away for us in the UK but from July 2nd if you have secured your advance screening tixs like all good groupies should, followed by the Remember Me DVD release July 19th/26th depending on where you are getting your goods from.

So what impact did we all have?

Remember Me opened in the UK on April 2nd ranked at No 7 in the box office countdown.

2 - 4 April Remember Me took in - £987,310 over 354 sites, giving a screen average of £2,789 ($4297)

In comparison over the US opening weekend, the film opened at No 5, grossing $8,089,139 over 2,212 sites, giving a screen average of $3,657 (£2,373)

Suggesting that on a site by site basis that the UK opening was on a par if not slightly higher than the US opening figures, somewhat surprising considering the amount of PR and profiling done in the US in comparison to the TV spots and pre-recorded PR efforts afforded to the UK launch of the film. While both had premieres the US version was larger and more substantially represented than that provided in the UK.
Therefore we would like to suggest that the fan campaign and support provided by the followers of the movie has had an impact on it's level of success in the UK and in Ireland.

9 - 11 April saw Remember Me remain static at No 7 and reported that the movie had done well in comparison to the overall takings from other movies over the same period.
Taking in £521,757 from 364 sites giving a screen average of £1433 a drop of approx 47%.
Combined sales totals across the linked areas rose to £2,639,885 [$4,059.301]

16 - 18 April second promoted Fan Event Weekend sees Remember Me hanging onto No10 at the box office taking in £225,397 from 344 sites a screen average of £655 dropping more than 50% on the previous week.. However this was in the week that Dear John opened at No 1 with huge box office figures, given the promotion around this movie this was not unexpected.
Combined sales totals across the linked areas now stand at £3,363,390 [$5,162,756]

23 - 25 April week four saw Remember me drop to No15 at the UK box office taking in £70,866 from 191 sites giving an average of £371 per site.
Combined sales totals across the linked areas now stand at £3,434,256 [$5,494,638]

Currently Remember Me has taken:
US Domestic figures 27/04 - $19,020,385 [40.6%]
Foreign figures 25/04 - $27,785,083 [59.4%]
of which UK, Ireland & Malta have contributed $5,494,638 [25/4]

Worldwide totals currently stand at $46,805,468

Did we make a difference?

When I initally saw the figures I was gutted but when I reflected I thought hang on a minute here, as a fan base for the movie we have made a phenomenal difference to the success of this movies in our resident areas.

We have fans that for the first time in their lives have turned out on opening night and paid full price for a ticket [cos I always go on cheap Tues or Orange Wed] and you made others who would not have seen this move go as well!

You didn't turn out 1 or 2 times, you have gone 3, 4, 5, 6 and @KatieDuffin24 10 times, to support this movie, its cast and the messages it stood for.

You have provided reviews, shared your thoughts and recounted your best scenes and what if anything you would have changed in the movie, and you have continued to support the Twitter, Blog and Facebook mediums that have been used. You have even taken part in crazy pub quizzes and competitions to win badges, robpornparties and always been ready to become involved and support in any way you can.

I am proud to have been involved in this campaign and I thank @jenbirtles and @keogirl for the support they have given me and @remembermefans for asking me to front the UK Twitter account it has been a blast.

But most of all I thank you, the followers and supporters of this movie, you rock and have made what could have been [lets face it] a box office disaster into a firm success. There is no other way to describe a $16 mill budget movie which has already grossed $46+ mill worldwide, has yet to open in Japan and several other markets and still has the DVD market to capture.

Finally saw Remember Me today, I manged to drag my reluctant boyfriend along to see it with me & I was completely engrossed in everything about it from beginning to end and he was actually surprised that he really enjoyed it too!:)

I wouldn't say it's like any movie I have seen before so it has lots of originality to it. I found the storyline really compelling and quite touching.

I do like movies with twist endings but this one really surprised me & I wasn't quite ready for the tears that were about to flow from me!

I think all the actors in the movie did an absolutely fantastic job but my main focus was on the gorgeous Robert Pattinson, I was intriged to see how well he could pull off the role of Tyler without reminding me of Edward and he completely did, I couldn't fault him one little bit, he did an amazing job in this role. I will definetly be buying the DVD when it comes out!:)

While many of you will continue to visit RM over the this week and weekend, I feel we need to make another large scale effort to take along as many RM and Rob virgin as possible to experience the emotions that only Remember Me can provide.

Your mission is to collect said virgins of all varities and convince them to go along with you on April 17th to share Remember Me together, and you have done it once so I know you can do it again. You have just over a week to plan your operation, identify the virgins and take them down!

RM and Rob fans are amazing and you can make this happen, bring it.

Remember Me opens at No 7 in the UK taking just short of £1mill, including Easter Monday takings climbed to £1.2mill - approx $2mill US dollars, not bad going for a little Indie flick. It opened in 354 screens making the screen average for opening weekend £2,789.

SKY MOVIES Remember Me Review...

YEAR: 2010 RUNNING TIME: 112 mins RATING: NOT RATED CERT: 12A

Robert Pattinson makes the fantasy-to-reality transition easy on Twi-hards by keeping it emo for Remember Me. Co-starring alongside R-Patz is Lost's Emilie De Ravin in this tragic romance about a pair of tortured souls and their burgeoning relationship set against the trials and tribulations of their respective families.

REVIEW

1991 and a sickeningly malicious subway robbery leaves a mother dead and her cop husband left to raise his daughter alone. Fast forward a decade and the little girl is now an NYU student still living with her over-protective father. Into her life comes Tyler, the tearaway son of a upper middle class family ripped apart by its own past tragedies.

Bookended by a pair of genuine body blows – of which more later – what's most impressive about the film is that it is a genuine two-hander. It would have been very easy for this to have become The Pattinson Show but debutante writer Will Fetters and Hollywoodland director Allen Coulter have the wit and intelligence to use their star to draw the audience into the story rather than just into the cinema. Both script and pacing allow the leads the necessary time and space to breathe so that, when their stories do ultimately intersect, its natural to want to follow them both together and apart.

Innocently stepping in to stop a street fight, Pattinson's character ends up first squaring up to, and then getting a lesson in fisticuffs from, the arresting officer. When its pointed out that he shares a university class with the cop's daughter, a vindictive plan is hatched to love her and leave her. But the path of true revenge never runs smoothly and its not long before the teen-friendly Machiavellian scheme turns into something a little more heartfelt – thanks to the transitory powers of home-cooked spaghetti and showering with a friend.

Fortunately both parties are blighted with the vagueness-masquerading-as-profundity gene that seems rife in all angst-ridden US drama so exchanges like the following become de rigeur as each gradually becomes the other's special someone:

Him: “I'm undecided.”
Her: “On what?”
Him: “On everything.”

Oh God, he's so windswept and interesting, so tortured and deep. So deep, in fact, that he can't even raise a smile at American Pie 2 when all about him are coughing up a lung – and, as well all know, that movie was high-larious. In short, at the outset of the film the characters are about as slappable as anyone over the age of 22 could possibly imagine. What saves them is having juuuuuuust enough tragedy trowelled on to make you feel guilty for wanting to bang their heads together.

However, a very strange thing happens as the characters begin to reveal themselves. While he's struggling with bringing the prodigal and seemingly uncaring father back into the family fold she's doing everything she can to keep Daddy at arm's length. And, as the machinations of the relationship play out in a fairly standard manner, its difficult not to become emotionally involved.

And then there's the ending...

As left turns go in movies, its a biggie but its probably best to think of it more like the end of one of Christopher Guest's movies than M. Night Shyamalan's.

In Guest's films a seemingly meandering plot suddenly comes screaming into focus with a single incident that defines the emotional build up that has led to it – David St Hubbins motioning Nigel Tuffnell back on stage in Spinal Tap, the will-the-won't-they kiss at the end of the rainbow in A Mighty Wind. At this point you realise that every single aspect of what has come before has been a delicately crafted progression towards a satisfying yet surprising conclusion.

At best Remember Me's concluding twist could be considered audacious, at worst hugely manipulative. Strangely effective as a bombastic emotional crescendo to the film, the ending still seems strangely out of place in what has been a clearly identifiable single genre drama. As an experiment, can we suggest saying the name of the movie out loud as you walk into the cinema and then doing the same on the way out. We're willing to put money on the fact that you'll interpret it differently the second time around.

Remember Me has the set up of a low-rent, high-concept teen comedy and the sledgehammer ending of a twistier-than-a-Curly-Wurly-on-a-Helter-Skelter thriller. Whether either sit comfortably within the parameters of a straight ahead character piece is open to debate. What is certain is that Pattinson is most definitely playing to the Twilight base while widening his appeal beyond the breathless tri-colour clad teens that have pronounced him as the second coming.

SPOILERS* First of all I want to a make a little critique to Summit : next time please don't publish all the trailers please, certain scenes I've learned the dialogues by heart (for ex.when tyler meets ally for the first time).

Second critique : the main trailer is really deceptive...is based all on the lovestory between Tyler and Ally.. for this I don't wanna say that I was disappointed by this but I was really really surprised by the whole history...

After the critiques, I want to say KUDOS to Summit for this film, it's fantastic!

ATTENTION : if are searching the vampire here.. stay away for this film.. here you find Robert in a more deep, complicated, more interesting too role. Also if are going to the cinema to watch a simply lovestory, you wrong, dude... since the lovestory is one of the elements that completes the history's film.

So now let's start -I've been at the cinema in my city in Italy on the 26th March -, I really love Tyler's role because in some manners represents the today's reality.. divorced parents with an extended family, have comunications problems with the dad and so on.

There's a lot of alcool and smoke (about this I want to know how many packet of cigarettes has smoked Robert during the shooting of the film hahahahaha) and for this I want to advice the film to an audience over 16.. maybe children aren't able to understand the film...

Ally, instead, represents Tyler's salvation in all the aspects and facts. When her is near Tyler all is easy to solve.. an example Ally, in some manners, after Caroline's accident (poor child), try to make understand with her love to Tyler that his dad is suffering like him for Micheal's suicide and that he must solve all the comunications problems with Charles.

The fight scene is the key to all the film, without that Tyler will never meet Ally. Maybe I have been disappointed by the sex scene : now I don't want to pass for a pervert person, but I have read in some directors interview that they have cut some scene because of the censorship and if they kept those scenes the film will have been an R rated, the film needed that hot scenes to make undestand the love that Ally feels for Tyler.. it's a really strong feeling.

At the half of the film, I've fell like something (I don't know what precisely) maybe a feeling.. the music has confirmed this thought that I'm just saying now... like that is going to happen an imminent catastrophe.. when I have read the date on blackboard I've understood all.."Tuesday - September 11,2001".

I've literally start to crying and saying "Godness, why this?"

After Tyler has found the right balance with love and his complicated relationship with the dad.. a fucking kamikaze has vanished all the effort... hell, I'm feeling so devasted about the end of ths film... I'm totally without words, really. If one part of my heart says "Godness, why this?" the other part says "I'm happy that the final wasn't expected like the classic lovestory ends with a marriage".

Also I want to add that I'm really happy to have spent 7 € of my allowance for watch this film. It deserves.

Forget the critics and their (occasionally biased) negative reviews. Go watch Remember Me. It is ultimately a brilliant movie, satisfying in it’s take on love, loss and life. It certainly gave me a lot to think about, which accurately suits the title. I left the theater hall dazed, unsure after its sudden twist of fate at the end. Did it suit the movie? Precisely so. The theme of loss and coping with life’s struggles seems to main theme of this movie, regardless of the trailers suggesting otherwise. Did I LIKE the ending? Not as much in the movie, but that’s because it was more affective in the script. The plane crashing and the footage on the TV and Tyler’s voice-overs. But with all the backlash it’s been getting for it, it’s better that those finer, more intimate details were left out. Overall, the finale was affective and memorable.

I’d just like to mention how proud I am of Robert, being a big fan of his and all. He wonderfully proved his worth, his skills and timing, in terms of acting both physically and emotionally in this movie. His snarky remarks, witty responses, insulting curses, and best of all, deep thoughts were expressed very well. You see him totally let go in some scenes, then grudgingly hold back in others. I was particularly impressed with that scene between him and the amazing Pierce Brosnan, who plays his dad. The way he shouted, how he looked, struttered, stormed around, it looked surprisingly natural, as shocking as that sounds. And I’m being a 100% honest and unbiased here when I say that I was blown away. You see, in most movies, people who are supposedly really angry just seem to scream and shout in perfect, clear sentences at each other. And in real life, that doesn’t happen, not often, at least. You’re supposed to be at a point where you’re so angry, you can barely form coherent thoughts or proper sentences, which was exactly how Tyler was. It was a short but distinguishing scene for me. Rob IS an actor. A real, raw one, at that. And he’s here to stay.

The chemistry between Rob and Emilie De Ravin, who skillfully plays his love interest Ally, was arguably very present, and believable. They’re not your love-at-first-sight type of pair, he only asked her out to get revenge on her dad, and she didn’t even wanna go on date with him. At first. Hell, she doesn’t even kiss him! She eventually does, probably just to make him shut the **** up. Tyler blabbers like a 5-year-old on a sugar rush, but it’s relatable and quite endearing. Their first date is as awkward as a real-life blind date would be. I enjoyed that scene, because it wasn’t a Disney-perfect first date where everything goes fine and dandy… and they all lived happily ever after. Uh, no. Definitely not. Their second date is at his apartment, they’re a little drunk, they drench each other (literally) and then his roommate, Aidan, played by charming Tate Ellington, persuades them to go for one (meaning a hundred) drink. She gets so drunk, she throws up and crashes Tyler’s bed. And.. wait for it… he DOES NOT sleep with her. Woah. It’s a turn from there, she starts believing him, and after running away from home because of a big fight with her dad, played by deserving Oscar winner, Chris Cooper, she goes to Tyler’s apartment for comfort. He sincerely tells her she’s more than welcome, and well, I guess you know what happens next. Her those shrieks? Yeah, I thought so. Their love-making scene(s) are surprisingly beautiful, filled with lust, passion, and an obvious feel of growing love and respect for one another, not at all distasteful or inappropriate.

Moving on to Tyler’s favourite (one of, I mean) girl. His little sister, Caroline. Ruby Jerins plays her brilliantly. The brother-sister relationship between these two is quite easily the best among all relationships, which says quite a lot seeing as all the relationships in the movie worked rather well. Even from the beginning it is obvious that the relationship between Tyler and Caroline goes much deeper than a bond bonded by blood. It is clearly the feeling of loss and loneliness that has brought these two so close to each other, ironic because it’s those exact emotions that have pushed them so far away from everyone else. But that’s the beauty of their relationship. They discuss their problems, but it’s not doom and gloom every second of the way. He brings out the independent, fun and joyous child in her, as she does with his young, playful and loving side. It’s absorbing to watch such mature characteristics arise from such young tormented beings. It’s also refreshing to see Tyler use his violent temper for a (kind of) good cause instead of just getting himself into serious shit. He constantly raises his voice at his dad for being, for lack of a better term, an arrogant asshole who cares only about his business, and it is basically the full circle of their relationship in the movie. But Tyler goes completely berserk when his sister’s hair is chopped off at a birthday party by her shameless “friends”. He literally trashes her classroom at school, terrorizing those girls and unknowingly satisfies his sister. It’s devastating to watch Caroline’s face as she grieve-strikenly sees the World Trade Centre go down in pieces, with her whole world in it.

Speaking of that, I’d like to address the so-called “offensive”, “tasteless” and “manipulative” ending. I just don’t get how those terms could have gotten associated with what happened. Why was Tyler’s death so exploiting? Because he died in 9/11? Does that mean that all those people were wrong to die in a terrorist attack? Because all those 3,000 people were just like Tyler, in case no one noticed. Tyler walked out of his apartment that day after telling his girlfriend he loved her, something probably every love-striken human being said that morning. But like Tyler, did they KNOW it would their last time? Did they know that they were leaving the people the loved most with only those 3 words to hold on to for the rest of their lives?? No. Tyler didn’t, and neither did they. SO, what I’m trying to say is, Tyler’s life could have easily been one of those 3,000 people’s life that day. This movie wasn’t made to exploit 9/11, or to gain sympathy and recognition, or to give Robert Pattinson a chance to show his skills in bed. No. This movie was made to ask the people of New York and the world to “Remember Me”, to remember all those Tylers that had lived such average lives but had died in such a tragic way. To grasp that life, no matter how perfect at one moment, can take a 180-degree turn the next moment. To remind the audience to “Live In The Moment” and to make every word heard and every action count. Because it could as well be your last, just like Tyler’s was, on a sunny morning of the 9th of September in the year 2001.
One last thing. The characters in this movie are brilliant, despite what the critics say, They felt real and honest and deep and above all, believable. Calling the Hawkins and the Craigs "a sad bunch of over-the-top dramatic, torn up families" is downright wrong. Ally lost her mom at 10, she SAW her getting killed right before her eyes. Her dad lost his wife to mugging, who, as a cop, works hard day and night to stop all that shit. Tyler and Caroline lost their brother to suicide, because he couldn't stand life anymore. Diane and Charles lost their son, and they carry the blame on their shoulders. Charles thinks it's his fault for pushing Michael, so he stays out of Tyler and Caroline's life, which saddens Caroline and enrages Tyler. Their parents are divorced. Honestly tell me straight up that no one you know has ever lost a brother or sister, or a parent or a child. Tell me that you don't know anyone who feels left-out. Tell me you've never rebelled against things. Tell me you've never done irresponsible things, tell me you've never over-reacted or lost your head. Tell me you've ever once felt like life is too unbearable, and you just want it to be over. Tell me you’ve never thought about those you lost who were so close to you, they were practically your twin. Tell me you've never loved someone so much, you could see right through their bad habits. Tell me you've never been at the wrong place at the wrong time. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, tell me you've never been caught surprised by life's changes. Tell me you know exactly what's going to happen next. Tell me that life is PREDICTABLE, and I will gladly condemn this movie with every ounce of my being.

If you have any doubts about seeing this movie, I suggest you put them away and go for it. You don’t have to be a Twilight, Lost, or James Bond fan to enjoy this movie. Go in with an open mind and you will exit the cinema with brand new opinions about… well, to quote the late Tyler Hawkins, everything.

Robert Pattinson’s hair will get the teens in for this mopey New York romance, but goodness, do they have a shock in store.

Dramatically speaking, a brother who committed suicide and a mum gunned down on the subway are the best things that ever happened to Pattinson’s Tyler and Emilie de Ravin’s Ally, who come together in their grief, damaged souls with tumbling locks, great cheekbones and not a lot else going for them.

As a test for the Pattster’s James Dean credentials, it’s watchable but unpersuasive: for all his railing against stuffy Dad (Pierce Brosnan), we never quite twig what Tyler’s problem is.

He’s thumped with a huge one when Will Fetters’s script piggybacks on tragedy at the end, hoping to give itself a point: this should have “Crass Twist Alert” and “Guess the Date!” emblazoned on the poster. But there’s still no point.

Robert Pattinson is not my Edward, When I read any of the Twilight books he is not who I imagine, My Edward doesn't really have a face…just a smoking hot body!

So even though I like the Twilight movies I've never been able to decide if I think Robs doing a good job or not….After watching Remember Me, I can now say with my hand on my heart that he is defiantly Edward. Why? Because there isn't a trace of good ol' Eddie boy in his portrayal of Tyler Hawkins in Remember Me!

He 100% silences critics with his performance as the little boy lost in one of the most heart warming and heart breaking films i've seen in many years. This movie has everything you could possible want in a Love story, You will laugh, cry, smile, frown, gasp and more than likely fall harder for Mr P!

The film has been incredibly well cast and everyone really shines in their roles, There are however a few accent issues from Emilie De Ravin and 007 himself but nothing that isn't forgotten as soon as its noticed.

Ruby Jerins is adorable as Rob's younger sister and it's easy to see why she was cast for the part, The two R's bounce of each other incredibly well and it makes for great viewing!

The tension between Rob and Pierce is fantastic and one could be mistaken for thinking that they actually hated each other. This is also true for the not so nice banter between Chris cooper and Mr P! With one scene in particular having me on the edge of my seat!

Now onto the good stuff….

The chemistry between Emilie and Rob is soooo hot I thought about stripping down in the cinema and pouring the free drink over my head! These too seriously know how to show an audience a good time! There isn't as many sex scenes as you would expect (or hope), but the main scene is incredibly done and fantastically shot. I can guarantee it will leave you wide eyed and breathless!

The great thing about this film is that even though we are all well aware and excited that there will be sex scene's, they don't happen every 5 minutes, at one point in the movie it's pretty obvious that they're gonna do it, but its very much a "fade to black" situation, which is perfect as it would of been completely pointless and would run the risk of making the film seem a little cheap and using Rob's sex symbol status to sell movies!

SPOILER ALERT

Having read the script beforehand I knew what to expect from the ending, however this didn't make it any less shocking and heartbreaking to watch….(If you don't want to know the ending then stop reading here.)

What I love about this movie is that Rob's character doesn't really do anything hugely significant, He doesn't make his father see the error of his ways and suddenly he is father of the year, he doesn't stop his friend from being a douche with the women, He just makes them realise. Don't take anything for granted because one day it may all be gone! This is what helps make this film authentic, realistic and totally loveable.

What you don't realise when watching this film is that it's set in the months leading up to the 9/11 terrorist attacks on New York city…enough said.

However, whats amazing is that the ending doesn't leave you in floods because of a character loss, but because it makes you Remember. You remember exactly where you were on that fateful day, you remember exactly how you felt when everything was unfolding and you especially remember seeing the faces of the people who had lost loved ones and witnessed such horror in such a wonderful city.

There's no exploitive shots of planes hitting the towers or the buildings falling, it just leaves you with your own thoughts and allows you to remember.

The narration from Robs character at the end of the movie is so important…it's not a quote, It's not a cheesy line…it's straight from his characters heart and it's the part of the movie that has been on replay in my head since walking out of the Cinema…( I cried on the tube thinking about it...)

Even if Rob had not been a part of this movie it would still have been an incredibly well written script with a very important message, what happened on that day should not be forgotten.

So with that said, Forgetting that Im a huge RPatz fan, This movie is Fabulous and will leave you in no doubt that Mr P is one talented young man...(and he looks hot after a fight!)

And i'll have no problems Remembering Rob after that performance!

Remember Me thoughts from @rmsaturdayuk [Kathy]

As you will of course have gathered by now I am rarely left in a position where words are difficult for me to find let alone express, but after two virtually back to back viewings of Remember Me yesterday that is exactly where I found myself. I needed time to consider and contemplate my response to this movie on many levels.

First off, yes thanks for the warning Mr P, this is not a romantic chic flick, and nor does it press the many buttons we are used to having pressed [although you can press my buttons any time mate]. I wondered also at the 12A rating due to the complexity of content and the contained messages but maybe that was just me. Over both viewings both screens were full but the responses within the screen were very different as the earlier was full of 12+ yr olds and a couple of single men, who spent most of the time laughin at the sexii bits and sighing over Rob, the 12 yrs olds that was of course. In the second screening there were many couples and overall a higher age range and the interaction with the movie was very different indeed.

Onto the movie itself, I will not post any spoilers here as we have some followers going today for the first time. This movie is about life, loss, family breakdown, communication, grief, relationships, love, laughter, committment, healing and acceptance. It is a journey that takes you to a conclusion that you do not want but which was and can be a fact of life. It is thought provoking and asks you to evaluate your own relationsips to ensure you have done with each and every one of them what you need to do to 'live in the moments'.

The acting was solid as were the sex scenes [back freckles galore, sex gruntin, steamy stuff my friends], with good performances from all the cast, I especially loved the relationships which form the basis for this movie. Rob and Ruby's relationship is tender, protective, safe and empathetic a real pleasure to be part of. And have to say this, I think I might be developing an unhealthy interest in angry rob [yes please]. As much as I love Pierce I do have a Mamma Mia complex that I find difficult to get away from now when I watch him, but my word he was assertive in the boardroom scene and the audience loved that .

As for Rob, I saw Tyler and not Edward, and I liked what I saw, if he takes on challenging and interesting future roles then he will have a long and rewarding career, if he chooses to continue it of course. I did see his constipation face on at least 1 occasion so am satisfied this is a Robism and not an Edwardism so I can live with that, many of our most successful actors have their own isms and it is part of their attraction.

So if today is your first time, or if yesterday was your first time, go again, you will need multiple viewings to appreciate that which is Remember Me, myself I am off again tonight to the 9.00pm showing!!

I would like to thank people involved in getting Remember Me onto our screens, it can't have been an easy feat as this is not what you would consider to be a monster block buster or rom com with huge names to ensure success even if movie is pants. It is a considered message about life, and how we need to take time to ensure it is how we want it to be before it is too late to do anything about it.

Here are my thoughts on RM. Rob was great, as a massive fan of the Twilight Saga, I thought I'd struggle to see him as anything else then Edward, but he was fab!

Good plot and great characters too. Although a bit of a shock ending, wasn't expecting that at all. 10/10.

Dont know how to put into words what I felt about this film. I started crying from the first scene. It was not what I expected, from the trailers I assumed it was a romance, but then Rob had said in an interview that it wasn't all romance, so I wasn't sure what to expect. And it just shocked me, the whole film was unexpected.

I was so impressed with Robs acting throughout the whole film, brilliant American accent, and was just amazing to see him in a different role that is not a vampire. And it did help that he looks so gorgeous throught the whole film.

I had butterflies as soon as I turned up to the cinema, while wearing my RM Saturday badge, which did cause a few conversations haha. They made us que 20 minutes to collect our tickets, as the cinema was so busy, however I was very disappointed that the Remember Me screen was not very busy, about a third full. However I am gradually spreading the word to get non Rob fans to go watch, My friend's sister, who is a Twilight fan but is Team Jacob, went to see and she said 'best film of 2010, absolutly amazing' So that just proves that the whole cast were amazing in this film. I think that Ruby Jerins, is just amazing, she is absolutly adorable and I loved her the whole way through! And as much as I want to hate Emilie for being able to do that amazingly HOT sex scene with Rob, she did play the part very well, but I wasn't very sure about her accent so much.

I already new what happened at the end, but I think the way that they portrayed that ending was amazing. The tissues from my RobKit were so needed, if you did not know that ending was going to happen I dont think you would expect that in the slightest. Which just makes it soo much better I think.

Cant wait to watch this again. I thought it was amazing, and not just as a Rob fan, dont think it is possible not to love this film!

Hey!!! its @KP8701 with my Remember Me Review :) Movie thoughts from Katie

2nd April was a date firmly marked in my Diary for a long time and Remember Me became a carefully thought out event for me and my friends. In all honesty I will admit it all began months before with just going to see a Robert Pattinson film, simply with the intention of getting a Rpatz fix! But the more I seen of trailers and clips the more engrossed in the story I became. Pre-booking tickets making arrangements to meet friends, it all started off soo pleasently. Standing in the queue for refreshements and hearing over the tannoy that the 20:50 showing of Remember Me was sold out gave me a rush of hope and excitement that maybe this film was going to be more than I had previously thought.

Sitting in my seat; placed in the middle so contently - I watched as the opening credits rolled waiting for the moment that Pattinson himself would grace our screen. but instead I was led in another direction, led to a story from years before. the opening scene shocked me into the awareness of the film I was about to embark upon! Watching the early events of Ally's [Emillie DeRavin] life moved me until I felt the lump in my throat. I was now less aware that I was seeing a Robert Pattinson film and more aware of the fact I was about to see a story told that would touch me in a way I wasnt yet prepared for.

Tylers [Robert Pattinson] story is so moving yet relatable. watching the events unfold and how Tylers relationships evolve, you feel yourself involved in the story. when hes with his friends you feel happy, you laugh when your supposed too. Whe you see him with his sister, you warm to the moments of a big brother wanting nothing other than his little sister to feel content and loved. When you see him fall for Ally, you understand how she changes him unexpectadly. All of this is so powerful due to the abilities of Pattinson himself.

Choosing such a different role to the character that has made him so Globally Famous [Twilight Saga's Edward] was a brave yet needed move for him to make. I will speak honestly when I say I never really saw the interest in Rpatz at first, then I watched Twilight and completely fell in love! But then I read the novels, I understood it was the Character I loved and not particularlly Robert. this is true example of his acting abilities how was capable of playing the infamous character so well. in time I have become a huge Rpatz fan and truthfully it has moved on from Edward which I why I was so eager to see this movie.

The onscreen relationships his character has with his father and sister are fantastic. Robert and Pierce work so well together their connection within the tension fuelled scenes are so moving that you stop asking yourself why Tyler has to be sooo angry at his father! as the story unravels you begin too see the underlying truths to Tylers pain. One of the most touching things I seen throughout this movie was the relationship Tyler had with his little sister Caroline, you can see that through their mutual grief that their bond is undenyably great an the smallest of scenes between the characters are moving. Ruby Jerins is clearly a wonderful actress who I can see we are going to plenty more of in the future and I think it is great to see Robert working so well with her. The two of my fave scene were with such characters, watching Tyler disrupt his fathers meeting moved me, to see the anger in his face as he looked at his father :O and at his sisters school, when he couldnt bare the actions of little children. Robert Pattinson shocked me more than I could imagine.

Now to the juicy stuff!! Robert and Emilie seem to work well together, with a clear onscreen connection allowing for the characters' chemistry to be believable. the eagerly awaited bedroom scene was superbly shot and left you gasping almost as much as the actors themselves!!! and thankfully is sex within the story isnt exploited, its not overly shot, we dont see major rob sex face stuff lol this I am extremely thankful for [surprisingly I know ha] because its not the most major aspect of the story. its just something that has to happen yet im still glad it does :-P haha

Prepared for the unthinkable, being as I was aware of how the story ended [thanks 2 Perez Hilton!] I sat with bated breathe hand over mouth as I watched Tyler approach his fathers office! watching the scenes of his sister at school, his father in his car, his mother at home, his girlfriend and BFF having fun you begin to feel that Tyler will be alone at the end. Even though he does nothing immensley obvious to heal the wounds he has with his father, of even encourage his fathers relationship with his own daughter - it is Tylers actions that make the story seem hit level. everything appears calm, like all is right with the world and then the unthinkable actually happens. So perfectly shot, and delicatly handled the films ending is more moving than I ever imagined. What stuck with me the most was hearing Tylers words to his brother, that is a monologue I will never forget. those words will stay with me forever and all in all, I think that is THE most important line of the movie. and, seeing Tylers leather bund notebook among the gravel led me to a thought as i sat there teary eyed - so maybe Tyler wasn't alone at the end after all. Maybe Tyler was with his brother, Michael, the one person he had been so intent maintaining a connection with, the one person he missed so much that he couldn't evolve without.

So besides being a MAJOR Rpatz fan, I enjoyed this movie immensly because it didnt feel like a movie, it felt like I was watching somebody's life unravel in front of me. And there was nothing I could do to save them from this self-destruction!

Robert Pattinson in my Opinion has done more than he could have intended to silence his critics. this is not an expected role of him, there are no cheesy lines, no soppy love story chick flick, no vampires ha. This truely is an amazing story, and I'm more than happy that Robert felt the need to tell us it.

Remember Me?? right now, theres not a chance I will ever forget! x

Hi! These are my thoughts on Remember Me, which I saw in Newcastle yesterday on April 2nd, from Sara I only went to see this movie, obviously, because of Robert Pattinson. I'd heard it was sad, and accidentally read online that Robert's character dies at the end (some idiot posted it in the comments of a non-spoiler review), so immediately assumed that it would be the usual stereotypical love story, like Titanic or something. I'm not really the soppy romantic movie type, I prefer the action and fantasy genres, so I was slightly put off by this and didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I'd hoped.

However, after seeing it, I realised that Remember Me isn't the usual love story at all; in fact it doesn't focus on romance nearly as much as the trailer suggests, in my opinion. The movie concentrates on Tyler's relationship with his father, sister and deceased brother as well, which was a welcome variation on the scenes with his girlfriend. I know that she is definitely central to the storyline, but I found myself focusing on, and much more interested in, the scenes involving his family. Most romantic movies focus solely on the two lovers, and it was a nice change to see Tyler's character being given some really deep, gritty background for the audience to digest, if you know what I mean.
Rob gave a consistently great performance throughout the movie with Tyler's character allowing him to channel his trademark intensity. He gave Tyler this sense of almost insanity, understandable given Tyler's circumstances, but also showed a genuinely caring and loving side, which was both endearing and crucial, otherwise the audience would would have been left wondering why the other characters want anything to do with this slightly dirty-looking maniac. The chemistry between Rob and Pierce Brosnan was flawless, as was the rapport between him and the little girl who plays his sister (her name escapes me); the broken father-son relationship paralled with the beautiful brother-sister bond moved me to tears! The chemistry between Rob and Emilie de Ravin was also, as expected, perfect. Emilie did a fantastic job of being Tyler's rock - I feel her purpose in the movie wasn't to be his one true love or soulmate (even though she may have been just that), but to be the one person Tyler could turn to in the middle of all his problems. I was grateful for the presence of Tyler's roommate, who was a typically funny guy and offered a little bit of lighthearted-ness amidst all the drama.

The ending was beautifully done, I was worried that there would be images of the actual 9/11 event, which would have been distasteful and upset a lot of people. Instead, Tyler at the window gave us girls a chance to weep over the impending death of Robert Pattinson (very shallow, I know), and cry some more as we felt the pain of not only his girlfriend, but of his family; a final reminder that Remember Me is definitely not the romantic tragedy I, for one, expected.

All in all, five stars for this movie. Great storyline, great cast, left a poignant message and I will be seeing it again!

The film Remember Me is an amazing film with amazing and fantastic actors in it. The story is good and you can really feel the different relationships between the characters.

Rob was amazing at portraying Tyler and I adored the Brother and Sister relationship, as I have an older brother I really felt connected with that in any way. Someone who will protect me in anyway for anything. That special bond was so good in the film it took my breath away.

The chemistry between Emilie and Rob blown me away as well.

Remember Me is definitely worth watching and it was the most amazing film I have ever seen, never has a film touched me so deeply as this one did. I cried a lot and laughed as well. I was really absorbed and that's what a film is about.

This should be watched by everyone, first see the film and then judge it not the other way around.

Can't wait for the DVD as I can then watch it over and over and over again!

Remember Me is a heart-warming and heart-breaking film at the same time. I enjoyed the film thoroughly, it made me laugh and made me cry but kept me thinking the whole way through.

The way Rob played Tyler was stunning. He captured the personality and brotherly character exactly and was a pleasure to watch on screen. He was looking positively perfect as usual and I enjoyed watching him play Tyler Hawkins more than Edward Cullen which was a BIG shock to me.

Pierce and Rob's relationship as Father and Son was portrayed well and you could constantly feel the tension. Ruby and Rob's relation ship as brother and sister was my favourite and the whole way through it I was thinking I want a big brother like that! Rob and Emilie had perfect chemistry especially in more intimate scenes and I feel like they really got to know each other. All actors were brilliant and the accents were perfect!

Overall I think Remember Me was a brilliant movie, definately my favourite Rob movie. It effected me in so many ways and made me cry like a baby both times! It's a must see movie and everyone will be able to relate to it in one way or another!

I thought the film was amazing the story was excellently written you really didn't know what was coming until you saw the date on the blackboard, there was a sharp intake of breath in the cinema.

It made me laugh and cry having lost a family member to suicide myself it does rip the family apart in different ways. The casting I thought was spot on and showed how adaptive Robert P can be and how the whole film drew you in from the very beginning.

It was amazing and brought memories back of that frightful day and of all those people who lost that special someone.

After all our waiting it is here! Opening weekend blossoms before us and provides us with the opportunity no matter how insignificant it may seem to make a difference to the overall success of this meaningful and emotive movie.

By making sure we see this movie more than once over opening weekend and on Fan Saturday by taking along people who would not normally either go and see Rob or a movie of this type, you are supporting the whole cast and the production team that gave us Remember Me.

So while we may feel insignificant we are part of a much larger global movement that has supported this movie in every way that it can. So lets make sure our support is loud and clear as we make our way to the movies this weekend and vote with our bums on seats and lets just enjoy how this movie has brought so many people together with its shared messages on life and making it count.

Oh holey moley on the eve of the of release weekend for Remember Me, that we have waited sooooo long for, lets just spend a sec thinking about who you are taking along with you to experience this movie with.

Fan event Saturday [April 3rd] is all about revisiting the movie and encouraging or taking along peeps who would not otherwise have chosen to see it, in this way we as fans make a difference to total sales over opening weekend. While it is fair to say that many overseas reviews have not be hugely complimentary, over here many of them have been, and most if not all have acknowledged the role Rob plays in the movie and note that he is indeed a rising star to watch carefully [did we need them to tell us that?]. This is a special movie about, loss, grief, love and acceptance it is not a typical romanctic drama and it deserves to be successful and recognised. You only have to read the review from @keogirl [but not if you are avoiding spoilers of course] to understand how rich this movie is and how the message needs to be heard.
I thank you for the support you have all shown to the campaign and I look forward to the UK/IRE box office opening figures, we could not do this without you so lets make this count.

Opening weekend is so close we can taste it (prob from all the screen licking we do) and the time for planning is here, we at RMSaturdayUK have no doubt that ALL Rob fans will turn out in droves to support this fantastic movie as it opens on Friday.

However to make a difference and to show how much we support the meaning of this film, Rob and the cast we need to make sure that we head back out to the cinema on Saturday to support the fan event. What we need to do is to make sure that when we do put our bums on seats that we have taken along other bums for seats [not necessarily winos or tramps] who would not generally have gone to see this movie, this is where we can make the difference.

So as you begin to pre book your tickets and make your arrangements think about who those special others are that you are going to take along to experience this movie with you and how you can make a contribution to the box office success that this movie richly deserves. You only have to read the review from @keogirl [but not if you are avoiding spoilers of course] to understand how rich this movie is and how the message needs to be heard.

Remember Me Press Conference - Film Shaft

Ever since Barnes boy Robert Pattinson smothered his face in talcum powder and put in a set of plastic fangs to play a veggie vampire in Twilight, the man has become the biggest heart-throb on the planet. After seeing thousands of screaming girls in Leicester Square, London for the UK premiere of Remember Me, one feels rather sorry for him. He may offer glib platitudes and thanks “to the fans”, but you sense deep down he just wants to get on with being an actor and not a celebrity. Remember the hullabaloo surrounding Leonardo DiCaprio after Titanic? Well, Pattinson is famous on that frightening level. Leicester Square (17th March) was vision of hell worthy of Hieronymous Bosch.

Hordes of Twi-hards blocked by barriers and security guards stretched out their arms clawing at “R.Pattz” like they were ravenous zombies excited by the prospect of fresh meat. There is no doubt that given the opportunity they would maul poor Robert Pattinson to death. Such encouraged frenzy and devotion is bizarre. The MC only had to say “Rob” and a grand choir of teens spliced the London air with a wail of screams utterly perplexing as it was damaging to the ears. They idolise R.Pattz and don’t care. One group of girls had been camping out in Leicester Square for 32 hours. How do I know this? They had a placard telling everyone. It is devotion bordering on religious mania. They are here to worship at the Church of Pattinson.

And yes, I had to wade through this jungle of sweating flesh and flash bulbs to attend the press conference, which was being held in the same venue after Emile de Ravin and Robert Pattinson introduced the film. Moments later they were in a tiny screening room greeting the gathered press for some questions and answers that started off stilted and ended up rather fun.

The immediate thing one notices about Robert Pattinson is his nervousness when confronted by the press. It’s all in the body language. He swivelled in his chair, would shield his face with his hands and look sideways to avoid eye contact when speaking, bite his nails or mess with his hands: a catalogue of telltale signs.

It’s not rudeness or arrogance, but a discomfort at the process of publicity. Maybe he’ll grow into it with time, but he exuded a great awkwardness to begin with before relaxing and being rather fun.

A major annoyance was caused by the PR people who warned the gathered press that there were to be no questions about Eclipse or Kristin Stewart. So if you’re expecting some fresh details on those subjects, well, there aren’t any. Sorry.

Robert Pattinson on working with Pierce Brosnan in Remember Me:
I never thought initially that anybody like Pierce would be playing Charles. He has an innate likeability and he’s very charismatic. Charles on the page was somebody who was domineering and quite a negative character and Pierce changed all that.

Robert Pattinson on the pressures of his new found status and ability to fund a variety of projects:
I never like anything, so it’s quite easy to decide what to do. I’ve never felt any pressure to do anything. Even when I was shooting it, I never felt any pressure about the box office – it’s only when I came to promote it that people ask me about this stuff. It’s not a Twilight movie; it’s an original screenplay and doesn’t fit into any genre. It’s not a feelgood movie…they don’t make movies like this any more…that’s how I kind of choose stuff. That’s the criteria.

Emile da Ravin on the appeal of Remember Me:
To me it didn’t really read technically like a script. It was like somebody had written you a letter…it was so honest and organic.

Emile De Ravin and Robert Pattinson on their New York accents:
De Ravin: I love accents and I use them quite a lot working in States, but it really adds another layer to the character for me. It was interesting with Ali (Ravin’s character) because she grew up in Queens, New York and originally I was going to do that. But talking to a dialect coach and going up there and observing I noticed the younger generation didn’t have a strong accent at all.

Pattinson: It just sort of came out of the script and the dialogue. It was pretty much the same voice. Sometimes when you read the script it just happens. I wasn’t even conscious of doing a New York accent or what borough or anything (laughs). I’ve spent a bit of time in New York and tried to pick up on how people speak. I don’t even know where my accent is now. I wouldn’t even say it’s specifically a London accent.

Emile De Ravin on Lost and its legacy:
Yeah it has been part of my life and it’s been a great ride. It’s kind of bittersweet that it’s ending, but happy they announced an end date three years ago and that it’s ending on a high note. I’m trying to be positive about the future (laughs).

Robert Pattinson on his real-life heroes:
My parents are great parents and they brought me up well, I think. I don’t know…I think that’s about all the heroes I’ve had.

Pattinson on the importance of fans and expectations for Remember Me:
I think, um, I always felt the most important thing you could do was films like this and quite difficult to generically advertise and get out to people. Something like Twilight or Lost…it gives it publicity immediately…if people go and see it, then once you’ve got them into the cinema, it’s almost inevitable that they’ll get drawn into it. I don’t know…obviously you hope people like things, but if you start to do things to please a certain audience then you’re going in the wrong direction. You can never please everybody…you don’t even know the people you’re trying to please. Especially when you’re trying to please huge swathes of people.

Emile De Ravin on fans:
Every fan of Twilight or Lost isn’t going to like everything you do. For me, it’s about challenging myself and not pigeon-holing myself into that one category of actor.
Robert Pattinson on why he’s attracted to brooding characters and plans for more light roles:
I did do more light stuff before Twilight came along. I don’t know, it just so happened that Twilight became this archetypal brooding person. I never thought Tyler (Remember Me) was that brooding. It’s not brood, brood, brood. I’d never even heard the word before! I like to play broken, troubled characters because it’s so interesting and I’m not particularly broken or troubled myself. I’m doing something now, which is dark, but the character since.
Robert Pattinson on preparing for fight scenes and real life scuffles:
I haven’t been in a fight for a very long time! I’d be too scared now (laughs). I think people who get into a fight and kill me now just for sake of it (laughs). I liked a lot of Tyler’s rebelliousness and audaciousness…it’s like a fantasy version of myself! Not really (laughs).

Robert Pattinson on his favourite type of biscuit:
You know in America when you get chicken and biscuits? It’s just really funny…whenever I’m in America and drive past restaurants and see chicken and biscuits and I’m like “why?” Then I had one and it was very nice…so I’ve changed my mind on what can be constituted as a biscuit. And I do like a Hobnob.

After careful and prolonged consideration @rocar86 has finished judging the submitted kits and selected @CosmicGirl78 as the overall winner. All those who sent a kit pic in will get a badge so please email me your address using the email on this blog. @CosmicGirl78 will also get a surprise additional gift, but can't tell you what yet as I haven't bought it yet lol.

This kit was selected because of the variety it offered. @Rocar86 likes lots of options ;) the bib was an excellent idea, as there is definately drooling going on during RM. The lollipops were a good suggestion for specific friends that get loud during sex scenes...might be a good idea to bring some along for the whole audience. Binoculars are the best idea ever.. also useful for camping out while waiting for Rob to going to watch Rob during his next movie. Also NHS speed dial is great ... defibrillators are not always easily available in every local cinema!

To be commended in the other kits:

Swan Lee - definately the fire extinguisher... that will be a must for Bel Ami as we will have to hose down the whole cinema by the end for sure.

Alicia Zen - inhaler is a must, works even better than the robsuscitation bag, which is of course the low cost option!

With her new film, Emilie de Ravin has hit the jackpot. Not only does she get to cavort in steamy scenes with heartthrob du jour Robert Pattinson (OMG! RPattz!) in Remember Me, but she gets to bask in the heat of a talked-about movie that, without Pattinson's involvement, may have been another under-the-radar romantic drama.

Pattinson's first project since the unprecedented success of the Twilight films sees him as an angry rich kid – sans creepy vampire makeup – who falls in love with a ballsy young philosophy student, played by de Ravin. At 28 – five years Pattinson's senior – she is still girlish enough to pass for 21.

You'll most likely recognise the Australian actress de Ravin as the young mother Claire in Lost (currently in its explosive sixth series on Sky1), but her association with Pattinson has catapulted her into the celebrity weeklies.

When we meet in New York, where the film is set, a blizzard is raging outside the hotel window. Like Pattinson, she seems embarrassed about her success, shrugging off compliments and rolling her eyes at talk of fans and paparazzi. "I get recognised," she says with a dismissive wave, "but I'm not the sort of person who frequents popular clubs. I try to keep out of that."

De Ravin is part of a new breed of celebrity – like Pattinson and his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart – who shun the glamour and adulation that many see as a perk of the job. When de Ravin slouched onto the red carpet at the London premiere of Remember Me recently, grinning awkwardly in her black Oscar de la Renta mini-dress, she and Pattinson looked as though they would rather be anywhere else.

Despite their 'I'm-so-normal' façade, journalists are warned not to ask about their private lives on pain of death. A hovering publicist peers up from her BlackBerry at the mere hint of a personal question to de Ravin (it could be worse: no less than three handlers accompany Pattinson during his interview). But this much we know: she married the American actor Josh Janowicz in June 2006 after being together for four years. The couple separated last year, but are rumoured to have reunited.

"Love is such an objective thing," she says, in a suitably vague answer to a necessarily vague question about love. "I mean, I can say I love my family, or I love my Diet Coke," she continues, gesturing towards her Coke can. "So I guess, in different ways, yeah, I do believe in love."

But in terms of relationships?

"It's different with every person. It depends if it... clicks. It's chemistry."

Either way, if she's in love when we meet, there is no ring on her finger. Of course she was romantically linked to Pattinson during filming, but RPattz could star opposite Ellen DeGeneres and there would be rumours. Having said that, the young stars' on-screen chemistry is undeniable. Viewers will be surprised to learn they met just one week before filming commenced.

"She's really cool," says Pattinson, pushing back his James Dean-esque mane, when we meet later that afternoon. "She was actually the last girl we saw and she was cast on the day of her audition, so we went straight out to a bar. It was so close to filming that we didn't have time to rehearse. But she got it right from the beginning, so it was easy."

De Ravin agrees that the best preparation was getting to know each other. "Our relationship in the film is intense," she nods. "We spent a lot of time together, talking about our characters and their relationship, because it's so important to be comfortable together. Then, when we were actually shooting, everything fell into place and felt natural. It didn't ever feel like we were reading a scene or going through the motions."

Watching Pattinson brooding or de Ravin screaming at her on-screen father (Chris Cooper), I have to ask: did they manage to have any fun on set?

"If you're getting ready to do a really emotional scene then, right before it, you're probably not going to be outside playing basketball," she shrugs. "But everybody involved was passionate about it so there was a good vibe."

Having not spent much time in New York before landing the role, de Ravin has now fallen in love with the city. "New York is a character in the film," she smiles, either not noticing or not caring what a cliché that is. "It was great to be able to walk around the city on days off. And it's so rare to be able to shoot in the real locations. When we have dinner, we were actually in The Oak Room and when we were doing a scene in the house Ally [her character] grew up in, that was in Queens."

Of course, the downside of shooting around the city is that Twilight fans and paparazzi had easy access to locations.

"It was distracting at times," admits de Ravin. "We shot 90 per cent on location in Manhattan or Queens so it was very accessible. It's not like they can close down Central Park. So it was difficult for Rob and I to figure out the logistics of a rehearsal when you've got thousands of people watching. Even if you're not looking at them, you're aware of it. It can be hard to focus."

It must have been a very different experience from filming Lost in the relative seclusion of Hawaii. As we speak, de Ravin is about to finish shooting the final season of the hit show. Can she tell us anything about how it ends? Do they ever get off that bloody island?

"I honestly don't know," she laughs. "We're filming the next episode in a few days and I don't even have that script yet. But that's the same with every show on TV. With films, you have time to read the script properly and rehearse. You can develop a back-story and, by the time you start shooting, you know everything you need to. That's one of the many things I love about film in comparison to TV."

Although de Ravin clearly yearns for a film career, you can't help feeling that she isn't really cut out for Hollywood. Ask her where home is and she says emphatically: "Temporary home is LA. But home home is Melbourne."

What does she miss most about it? "Everything," she sighs wistfully. "Walking around the city and the gardens and the restaurants. I don't get home as much as I would like to. There's a lot of downtime on Lost, so I might have three weeks off, but you never know in advance if you might be needed. I miss my family so much, my ideal holiday is just to hang out with them. I'm kind of a homebody. I like to sit at home and watch movies and eat good food."

De Ravin is no stranger to film, having starred in 2005's high-school noir Brick, alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and the 2006 horror The Hills Have Eyes (tagline: "The Lucky Ones Die First"). So she's no red carpet virgin; it's just that it's not really her natural home.

"Once in a while it's fun to dress up for a premiere," she shrugs. "But I'm not someone that's going to stick on heels and a dress every day. Shopping stresses me out."

What about staying in shape? Her impressive abs are on display in Remember Me. She must work out?

"No, I don't really do anything. I'm not very fit."

Just good genes then?

"Yeah. Thanks mum."

So there you go: Emilie de Ravin is a study in laid-back cool. One of that frustrating breed of beautiful I-just-rolled-out-of-bed-and-this-is-how-I-look people. A lot like Robert Pattinson in fact. So, when she was filming scenes with RPattz, who spent the most time on their hair?

She explodes with laughter: "Oh come on! Totally Rob," she grins, before shaking her head at the ridiculousness of the question and, more seriously, adding, "Neither one of us really did much. It was just like... " she mimes messing up her hair with devil-may-care nonchalance.

Then she shrugs again.

'Remember Me' is released on 2 April. 'Lost' is on Fridays at 9pm on Sky1 and Sky1 HD

Told to be at the security hut for 7.15 like any good fans should be, we were early, but what is this were are the others? At 7.20 a mere 20 of us stood looking around for the other expected 80, looks like they got stood up if you ask me.

Then in we trot to the conference room where we are overlooked by JayKay [perhaps on his way to the great smelting pot in the sky?]. In the room we are asked to sign press releases and told how excited we are [really??] and that we must be great fans lalalalalal. Then we are told not to touch the hair as he has only recently been dried off and must mind their fingers cos they snap off really easily, and as hands are sort of in pockets lord knows what you might snap off if you get too close lol.

In we march, queue this way, no move over that way, 'can you crane a bit and make some more noise please' [asking why cos its not real at this point]. Then they choose who they want to take pics with as 'we have a certain image we are going for' that leaves most of the hundreds [yes the 20] out of the pics and on the benches.

Oh and then we get to meet Rob lookie likee cos ITN are filming fan reactions to lookie likees, which they will show tonight, he thinks he looks like him, love him.

My daugher is asked for a quote and her age, they mis spell her name, she gains a few years, oh and several sentences I didn't actually hear her say, but such is life I suppose lol.

While pervin was requested, even I could not perv over waxbert cos that is just way to strange even for me but I did bring back the requested comparison shots of thumb porn/groin area and freckle.

On the upside our badge is noticed and sparks a lot of conversation about RM and opening weekend, so all was not lost.

HOLLYWOOD stars Robert Pattinson, Uma Thurman and Christina Ricci were spotted at Balls Park yesterday (Wednesday) whilst filming their latest movie.

The actors were at the Manor House in Hertford filming Bel Ami – a movie adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s novel with the same title – originally set in Paris.

Pattinson plays Georges Duroy – a man who rises to the top by manipulating a series of powerful and wealthy mistresses.

The actor stars opposite Uma Thurman, who plays a woman high up in Parisian society and later becomes Duroy‘s wife.

Christina Ricci plays one of Duroy’s many mistresses in the film.

The stars were spotted this morning as they were on their way to hair and make-up, all stars apart from Pattinson walked the 30 metres from their trailers to the film set.

Thurman was wearing denim jeans knee high boots and a brown jacket, while Ricci had her hair styled in 19th century ringlets.

The stars are due to be on set till the weekend and the film is due to be released in 2011.

Rolling Stone – Why are Twi-hards Deserting RPattz and KStew at the Box Office When They Don’t Play Edward and Bella?

Twilight fans are so rabid that you expect them to turn out to help Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart open their non-Twilight films out of loyalty or dumb curiosity. And yet Remember Me, starring RPattz as an NYU student coping with life and love in a year of global tragedy, opened soft last week and crashed a massive 60 percent in its second weekend. That bites, even though Pattinson didn’t.

As for Kristen Stewart, the once and future Bella Swan won decent reviews for playing female rock pioneer Joan Jett in The Runaways. And still the film barely grossed $1 million in its debut. On the other hand, audiences turned out $21 million worth to see Jennifer Aniston spar with Gerard Butler in the abysmally unfunny Bounty Hunter. How has Friends inspired Aniston fealty so far beyond its sell-by date?

Twi-hards, I want answers. The main audience for KStew’s rocker-chick flick turned out to be women 25 and older, a demo that actually might remember the Runaways. Younger audiences stayed away. Why? And did Remember Me’s dud reviews (a pathetic 27 percent favorable on rottentomatoes.com) discourage RPattz fans from watching him emote without benefit of the brooding Cullen vampire legacy?

RIGHT now, being Robert Pattinson is a full-time business fraught with danger. The last time I saw him, the British star of the Twilight vampire franchise was in Cannes, surrounded by screaming French fans ready to sink their teeth into his flesh. With the release of Twilight sequel New Moon in November furthering "R-Patz" mania, it's now reached epidemic proportions – fuelled by his relationship with Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart.

When we meet in a New York hotel it seems impossible to escape him. Posters cover the subway for his latest film, Remember Me, while shops are full of Pattinson posters, calendars and T-shirts. Meanwhile, the cover of US magazine Details sees him wedged in between a model's legs (a photo shoot that led him in the accompanying interview to say "I'm allergic to vagina" – a quote that will doubtless follow him to his grave). No wonder, with his five-day stubble, unruly sideburns and unkempt James Dean-like mop of hair, he looks a little haggard.

Dressed in black jeans and a forest green puffer jacket, he says much of his day is about maintaining his sanity. "I spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to not be seen," he says. "It's kind of annoying but the payoff is infinite.

"If no-one finds out where you're staying, if people aren't following you as soon as you leave your house, if people aren't waiting outside a restaurant if you have dinner there… then it's great. People coming up to you in the street – that's nice. But it's just when people know they can make money off your life, that's when it becomes difficult. They're relentless."

Returning to the city where he shot romantic drama Remember Me hardly helps. When he was filming there last June, hysteria haunted him wherever he walked.

"I don't know why I didn't see it coming. I really thought it was going to be a tiny little film, shot in New York, and I'd be able to just hang out." Instead, with much of the movie filmed in and around the city, it was done to the backdrop of screaming fans and the clicks of the paparazzi.

"Some days it just went completely mad, but you can't do anything," he says. "I remember one day we were filming by NYU, and there was a bunch of paparazzi on the other side of the street. It was in the middle of the scene and they were going 'Look up, look up!' as we were shooting. And when you don't look up, they go 'What? Do you think you're acting or something?'"

While he admits he got "more and more pissed off" with the intrusion, a security guard put it into perspective – telling him to imagine the embarrassment, not to mention the furore, if he tried to punch a pap and missed. "Then you feel fine. No-one can do anything to you then."

Given the role he plays in Remember Me, it's to his credit he never swung a fist off-camera. His angst-ridden character Tyler Hawkins evidently has visions of emulating his Fight Club namesake Tyler Durden, brawling with just about everyone, from his wealthy father (Pierce Brosnan) to louts on the street. While Pattinson previously told me "I'm really just playing myself", he's changed his tune since making the film. "I think it's impossible to do that. It's more your fantasy of yourself – like 'Yeah, I could play that. I get into fights all the time'." So does he? "I don't at all," he says. "I just want to." What about in the past? "I've been beaten up quite a few times. I generally don't see it coming, so I can't really class it as a fight. It's been a few years though."

It's hard to imagine this 23-year-old from Surrey getting into schoolyard scraps. Raised with his two older sisters by his father, a former car dealer, and his mother, who worked in a model agency, his middle-class upbringing in Barnes hardly sounds like the stuff of drama. "I'm always really worried," he says, "because I didn't go through a rebellious streak when I was young, that now I'll suddenly start rebelling against stuff completely unnecessarily."

Considering how his life has been mapped out for him by Twilight, it'd be hard to blame him if he did. Everything was a lot simpler when he was a teenager – and he certainly didn't experience the pressure to succeed that Tyler feels from his alpha-male father. "When I was not trying very hard at school, my dad was like: 'Just leave school and get a job.' No-one ever said: 'You need to do your exams.' It was more like: 'If you're not going to take advantage of things, don't do it. Do something else.'"

This he did. Ditching the idea of going to university, he veered towards acting, something his father first suggested when he urged him to get involved with amateur productions at Barnes Theatre Company.

After a bit part in Mira Nair's film adaptation of Vanity Fair, followed by a more substantial role in a TV film of Wagner's Ring cycle, Ring Of The Nibelungs, Pattinson's big break came in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, playing martyred Hogwarts pupil Cedric Diggory. Yet with success comes responsibility, and it's clear that post-Twilight, he's beginning to feel the pressure. "You can see all these articles," he says. "Like 'If Remember Me doesn't make any money, then what is he? What is his worth to the world?' I don't know. Nothing."

While the film made a modest box office bow in the US, taking $8.7 million in its opening weekend, Pattinson has no regrets about taking it on. "It's not a big epic action film. It's not going out to the marketplace to sweep up everything. It's just made to be a film. That's the weird thing."

While the film concentrates on Tyler's relationship with Lost star Emilie de Ravin's student Ally, Pattinson says: "I always thought it was more a film about living, trying to live, than specifically a love story" – a reason perhaps that Twilight fans have so far stayed away.

Not that this is a surprise. As shown by last year's little-seen biopic Little Ashes, in which he played artist Salvador Dalí, it's not Pattinson the fans want so much as his Twilight character Edward Cullen. Not that they'll have to wait long, with the third instalment of the franchise, Eclipse, due in July. While Pattinson returns to shoot the final episode, Breaking Dawn, in October, at least in between he's managed to squeeze in another adult role – an adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's 19th-century novella Bel Ami – to further show there's more to him than teen pin-up.

Indeed, if the gay love scenes of Little Ashes didn't fluster his female fanbase, playing Bel Ami's hard-living journalist and social climber surely will. As a cad of the first order, the film pits him against a legion of female co-stars, including Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas. So did that help his curious little phobia? "You mean did it ease my fear of vagina?" he says. "It's funny, playing this character that uses them all and uses sex as a weapon. He just destroys these people's lives in such horrible ways – it's so strange for me to be playing that part."

If this hints he's no heartbreaker in real life, today he's as reluctant as ever to talk about romance with Stewart, or anyone else. "When the spotlight seems to be quite centred on you, the best thing I think is to remain as much of a mystery as you can," he says. "Don't try and label yourself. Don't put yourself out. That's the only thing that creates stories."

If there's one thing he's learned, it's that a public persona isn't helpful when trying to sustain a career. "If you're seen all the time and if your opinions are all over the place, no-one wants to see your movies." Not that there's much danger of this – at least until the curtain falls on Twilight.

Finding the filming of sex scenes in 'Remember Me' hard to do, the 'Twilight Saga' star gushes that they gives him respect for the adult movie stars.

Kinky sex scenes in "Remember Me" has apparently made Robert Pattinson see adult movie stars in a different light. In an interview with The Sunday Times Style magazine, the Edward Cullen of the "Twilight Saga" star has admitted that he has a newfound admiration for porn stars after learning how hard it is to strip off on screen.

"When you end up doing it, you have this little patch on your privates," the 23-year-old shared. "I didn't really tape it up properly, so I'd spent so long taping it round myself and then literally it falls off within one second and it's taped to the sheet. And you realize the whole crew are looking directly at your butt crack. I can't think of anything exciting for them about this. It gives you a lot of respect for porn stars."

Admitting his nervousness for the shooting, the co-star of Emilie de Ravin shared, "Emilie was very, very, very comfortable. I'm always the one who's the most uncomfortable." He went on to recall how director Allen Coulter tried to make them "more comfortable" by giving them a selection of sex toys.

"So we came into the room, and they said 'It's a closed set,' blah, blah, and we got on to the bed and the director was like, 'I got you these things, if just maybe you wanted to use them," he said. "You don't have to use them, maybe it will make you more comfortable.' They were these bondage things: lube and handcuffs and porn videos. It was so funny!"

Forget St Patrick's Day, yesterday was St Pattinson's Day as R-Patz arrived in London for a homecoming he won't forget for a while.

Rob joined co-star Emilie De Raven for the London premiere of new flick Remember Me last night where he a received a raptuous reception from thousands of adoring fans.

Looking slightly stunned by the cheers and tears of the mass of teenage girls out to greet him, Rob spent over an hour working the crowd, signing pictures and taking photograps with fans.
